Lord Hanuman is Anjani Putra, he was born to Anjana who was the wife of Vanraja Kesari, the king of monkeys. She was once cursed by Muni Vishwamitra that she will give birth to a moneky after she disturbed him while he was in dhyana. After that Anjana prayed to Lord Shiva for son Lord Hanuman. It is believed that Lord Hanuman is an incarnation of Lord Shiva.
